Sydenham Youth Club (BELB) Palmerston Road

The Palmerston Residents Association Believes that the youth club could be turned over to Social Housing for the area, the residents association met with councillors for the area in July 2007 and this issue was brought up at that time we were informed the building would be used for the sea cadets, while still retaining it for the benefit of the youth. The residents association feels that to change this site to any other use would be wrong we feel that any form of apartment development would be a disaster it would mean that the junction to Station Road would be permanently blocked by parked cars. The bus stop is also sited at that corner this would add more problems to the bus route we are always fearful that the route becomes to overcrowded and would be taken out of service all together due to parking conditions in the general area. To lose this site to any form of housing would be wrong and it should be given over permanently for the use of the community or the sea cadets this building has been left unattended and in a run down condition for some time this is not the fault of the community as we regard it to be an asset to the community
